Description

Nutting House is located between the Union Street and the Third Street East. The sketch shows the north side of the house. It is built in 1888 for the John Claudius and Calista (Morse) Nutting family, and was given to Carleton College in 1970 by their granddaughters. Contemporary news paper reports referred to the house as one of the finest in the city. It was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 due to its status as the only remaining example of a brick home of this size and period in Northfield.
