Carleton Pre-Law Society

16 participants

The Carleton Pre-Law Society is intended for any and all students at Carleton who have an interest in law. Whether you are certain that you want to go to law school, just want to learn more about potential options and speak with other students, or anywhere in between, we would love to have you!

Navigating the pre-law process can feel complex and intimidating at times, but the Pre-Law Society aims to make this process less daunting and more accessible while promoting a strong collaborative and supportive community where Carls help Carls.

Throughout the year, the Pre-Law Society will plan to discuss the law school application process and law school in general, contemporary and historic court cases, and general strategies that may assist students both in law school and on the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). If it is a topic of interest, we may also go over practice LSAT exams and consider approaches for different parts of these tests. Additionally, the Pre-Law Society hopes to bring in guest speakers to talk about their own experiences in law school and the legal field. Hosting legal movie nights and visiting law schools, law firms, and courthouses/trials may also be possibilities. Students can start coming to meetings at any time and attend any meetings that they choose.
