The purpose of the Student Band Union is to foster a vibrant student band scene at Carleton. To that end, we provide for, maintain, furnish, and control access to equipment that student bands may use for practice and gigs. This equipment includes amps, cords, and mics as well as a mobile drum set. The president of the SBU is responsible for keeping the group organized and aware of how the group should function. Membership is comprised of student bands, and there is an online scheduled sign up system to ensure equal access. This equipment is also used for the various concerts at Carleton, including those in the Cave, at Farm, and Spring Concert. The SBU members are responsible for ensuring this equipment returns undamaged.
