Speak Up is Carleton\u2019s annual event dedicated to centering and empowering the voices of sexual violence survivors on campus. It is a place where survivors can safely share their experiences with sexual violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the past, this event has been organized by Carleton’s Gender and Sexuality Center (GSC), but in 2019, the student organizations Campus Advocates Against Sexual Harassment and Assault (CAASHA), Carleton Advocacy Network of Doulas (CAN-DO), and Student Advocates for Reproductive Choice (SARC) ran this event due to the Gender and Sexuality Center’s unwillingness to support it (Rubin and Newsham 2019). From 2020 onward, it has been run as a partnership between the GSC and student organizations (GSC 2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
