How to Use the Microfiche Simulator
Scroll through the scanned microfiches on the Minolta RP605Z model. Click on different scans of fiche to learn more.
Each image of microfiche is a scan which we made of fiche from Carleton’s collection.
About this Selection of Fiche
Carleton has a very random collection of microfiche. We scanned a lot more fiche than is actually presented here, since it took us a while to narrow the plan for our project’s output. We ultimately decided to present these particular scans of fiche because they are all related to each other, and constitute a “corpus” of sorts.
What is this corpus? These fiche all store 1990’s promotional information about various colleges and universities across the United States. We have scanned information about the English and Chemistry Department for each school, as well as introductory sections providing general facts about each school. We have scanned information for four schools, and each one is a different type of institution. We scanned information about UCLA (Public University), Howard University (Historically Black University), Windward Community College (Community College), and of course Carleton College (Liberal-Arts College).
What Can You See Here?
