2020-21 (Class of 2024):
With this cycle taking place during the COVID19 pandemic, this was an obvious year to explore.
- There was a decrease in total applicants and those enrolled during the 2020-21 cycle seen in Figure 1 and Figure 2 respectively. The total number of admitted students did not decrease, it actually slightly increased from the previous year.
- Students took a gap year which accounts for the decrease in enrollment.
- First-year enrollment was down 16.1% nationwide across public, community, and private colleges and universities (Fall 2020 #2 (as of Sept 24) | Tableau Public).
