About the Project
After learning about the reading marathon for The Old Curiosity Shop this winter, we were inspired to dig into the history of this Carleton tradition in the English department. By gathering materials from the marathons, including the actual books read, quotes from participants, posters, and photos, we hope to preserve this tradition for future Carleton students. We are grateful to Michael Kowalewski, the creator of Carleton's reading marathons, for providing support to our project.
