Discussion of Sources:

The materials used in this project come from a combination of original data collected by our group as well as publicly available data. The 360° interior panoramas and the exterior 3D splat model were created by our group using PolyCam and Scaniverse in order to document the current appearance of Willis Hall. Historical information and dates used in the project timeline were gathered from the Carleton College webpage on the history of Willis Hall. Additional visual materials, such as historical photographs and maps, were sourced from the Carleton College website and the Carleton College Archives.

We also took inspiration from existing digital humanities projects. We used these as references when designing our interactive features. A few examples of these include the Networking the Arts project, which is a similar project done for Carleton’s Weitz Center for Creativity, as well the Inside the Faribault House virtual tour. These sources helped guide our model structure and digital presentation, but they were not directly reused as data. All of these different sources together allowed us to make an interactive documentation of Willis Hall before its future renovations.
