About the Timeline
We used Flourish to create an interactive timeline of Willis Hall, showing its evolution from 1867 to the present. The timeline highlights key moments like the building’s completion in 1872, the 1879 fire, the 1880 rebuild with the new clock tower, and its 1954 conversion into the Memorial Student Union. Other entries show additions like electric lights, departmental offices, student services, and its 1975 recognition on the National Register of Historic Places. Flourish made it easy to organize events chronologically with images and descriptions, as it allows viewers explore the history at their own pace. The timeline captures the evolution of Willis Hall through the years at Carleton and serves as a reminder of change and growth at Carleton College.
